# Topics mode - Social Discussion Analysis

In **Topics** mode, users can browse the most important discussion terms connected to the company.

Each topic can be selected to open a deeper view of:

* Estimated discussion volume
* Percent share of total discussion
* Change over time
* Recent posts tied to that topic

This makes it easy to see not just which topic is biggest, but which topic is accelerating the fastest.

#### Estimated Volume vs Percent Share

Users can switch between two main views:

* **Estimated Volume** — the estimated number of posts or mentions tied to the selected topic
* **Percent Share** — the share of total company discussion represented by that topic

Use **Estimated Volume** when you want the absolute scale of discussion.

Use **Percent Share** when you want to understand relative importance within the company narrative.

This is useful because a topic can grow in raw volume while still losing share if the broader company conversation is growing even faster.
