# Timeline mode - Social Discussion Analysis

Track how company discussion topics and phrases emerge, persist, and change over time.

### Timeline mode

In **Timeline** mode, users can see how the main discussion topics evolve across time.

This view highlights when specific phrases or themes emerge, persist, or fade. It is useful for identifying:

* The first appearance of a narrative
* Whether a topic is recurring or one-off
* When a topic becomes dominant

Users can hover into topics to inspect the history of a phrase and see how its relevance changes over time.

This helps connect current narrative strength to the broader discussion cycle.
