Types of trackers
Trackers fall into broad research categories:
Interest and attention — search, discovery, social discussion, and media activity.
Digital and product activity — web, mobile, commerce, pricing, and support-related signals.
Adoption and operating context — developer, B2B, hiring, infrastructure, and financial context.
Individual trackers may use observed, indexed, estimated, transformed, or modeled metrics. They are directional proxies. They do not directly measure purchases, conversions, revenue, private operations, or individual behavior.
Definitions, availability, geography, history, and cadence vary. Review the tracker definition in-product and compare it with independent research.
