Exploding Trends (Rising / Falling)
Discover what's trending now
In this section, users can easily discover the hottest trends occurring in real-time. The view is automatically generated for the users and has tens of pages of keywords to explore. The page is meant to be used as a trend discovery tool, helping users spot fast growing keyword searches. This can aid their stock picking experience and help with idea generation. It is very important to note, these keywords are generated without manual input by the user!

Users simply first choose the "Exploding Data Type" and "Filter" they are interested in and see pages of results of consumer interest trends that might help with idea generation for trades.
Firstly, "Exploding Companies" will be shown first which shows users a summary of all pages at a glance. These are the companies where there is the most number of data sources and keywords experiencing abnormal consumer interest.

A keyword is considered "Rising" if it is experiencing a spike higher in consumer interest for the specified data type.
A keyword is considered "Falling" if it is experiencing a crashing lower trend in consumer interest.
Notice the hierarchical options "Sort By (Total/Weighted)", "Public/Private", and "View", which is scrollable down and sorted by most featured.

Sort By:
Total Appearances: The total number of times a ticker appeared in "Related Companies", sorted in descending order
Weighted Rank: Incorporates the search volume of the keywords as well as the weighted rank of the tickers showing up in "Related Companies", then sorts in descending order.
Public/Private: Toggle between seeing only public companies or only private companies.
Aggregation:
By Type: Splits out each of the individual data sources like the default view shows
All Types: Aggregates all Related Companies across all data sources as opposed to only showing individual data source types.
Any combination of these options can be chosen to be applied together to truly filter for stock ideas to further research. Now we will explore the rest of the page below.
In the example below, we defaulted to the "Search Trend" data type, but users can select any data type they prefer. "Search Trend" and sort by "Outlier Score" are the default settings when a user clicks on the Exploding Trends page. Notice the grey bands and red shaded portions of the line graph. The red represents a seasonal outlier, while the grey bands represent a range of typical seasonality for search interest in that keyword.

Notice how below the "Search Trend" tag, there are the categories. The "Category" filter can help limit the sectors of results.

Users can also edit the "Moving Average" to any value they want applied to the daily data. There is also a "YOY (Year Over Year)" option to convert the plot into YOY values instead.
"Period Increase Percent" shows the time frame that will populate each chart's upper right hand corner value. This especially is useful when sort Percent Increase mode is active, as all the charts will be rearranged to match the new %'s shown.

Users will also notice the default "View" is "Outlier" but Enterprise Users have multiple viewing options like "Chart", "List", or "Outlier" view.

Outlier view is our experience tends to be the most powerful for idea generation because it sorts for non-seasonal consumer patterns across our data sources. Notice that was Outlier Mode is chosen the sort changes as well to "Outlier Score". This uses a proprietary sorting algorithm TickerTrends' uses to incorporate the search volume of the term as well as the magnitude of outlier from the mean.
Notice the "Related Companies" section below every keyword. TickerTrends has a proprietary matching system that finds the most similar public and private companies to any keyword shown!

On Sort, there are 5 sorting options:
"Alphabetical": sorts all these charts in alphabetical order.
"Percent Increase": sorts keywords in descending order by percent change shown in the top right corner of each trend.
"Percent Decrease": sorts keywords in ascending order by percent change shown in the top right corner of each trend.
"Outlier Score": sorts keywords by a combination of volume of searches as well as how large of an outlier the keyword seasonally is — a proprietary sorting algorithm TickerTrends recommends as Outlier Modes' default.
"Recency": sorts by recency of the detected outlier finding the most current outliers — also highly useful in Outlier Mode to discover current abnormal trends.

Next, there is a "Filter by Watchlist" option. When clicked, it only shows terms you had added linked to stocks that are shown in the "Related Companies" section. This aids the discovery of data values that are changing for companies you track in your active watchlist.

Notice the "Analyze" option on any given chart. Let's say "roblox" catches a user's eye and they want to discover related stocks.

The user simply selects "Analyze" in the top right corner and is led directly to the Unstructured Data Page to analyze the keyword deeper in dashboard format. If they are done looking and want to go back to the page they left off on they simply click "Back" to get back to Exploding Trends.

This makes for fast trend and stock discovery. If after going back the user decides to do more research on terms similar, they can click on the "Related" and view what context the chosen keyword is being used in commonly online.

In the "Filter by" section, users can filter by "Search", "Percent Increase", or "Current Value".

For "Search", users can type a keyword to see if it's in the dataset. When typing in Search, the Sort functionality instead switches to "Search Similarity", where only the closest matching keywords to the entered term will populate. For example, multiple hundreds of pages of Trends became only 1 pages when "shoes" is searched and all look shoe-related.

For "Minimum Percent", typing "70" for example will only show you keywords rising by more than +70% in the 1 year period chosen. Below, we also see that we can type in any page number on the right side of "Next" to navigate to any page.

For "Related Company", users can search for any ticker symbol. Example: BROS is searched in the image below, and all terms related to that company show up.

For "Category", users can select the categories of terms they are interested in seeing results for.

The "Earnings Date" option lets users filter by exploding trends *only* reporting earnings within a user defined date range. For example: 10/20/2025 - 10/31/2025 filter is shown below, which displays all keywords linked to "Related Companies" reporting in that period earnings date filter.

All-in-all the Exploding Trends page is a great place to discover what societal trends are happening without needing to manually search anything yourself to start off!
