Wikipedia

Overview Wikipedia page views capture how often a company, brand, or product’s Wikipedia entry is accessed. Spikes in views often indicate rising consumer curiosity, media attention, or cultural moments that drive users to seek background information. Unlike social platforms where engagement is conversational, Wikipedia page views reflect pure information-seeking behavior.

Historical Length Coverage extends back to the creation date of each individual Wikipedia page. This allows users to see the full history of awareness for a brand or product, including its earliest recognition on the platform.

Granularity Page view data is collected at daily granularity, making it possible to pinpoint sudden bursts of interest and track whether attention sustains or fades over time.

Update Frequency Updated daily with less than a 24-hour lag from Wikipedia’s traffic reporting.

Methodology We source raw page view data using public web scraping techniques and preserve the original counts without normalization to ensure transparency with native reporting. For each tracked page, we collect:

  • Page Views: Total number of views to the page each day
